Before you start: Most useful once you understand NDOG and NWOG.

Part of the MY EDGE framework — refined through thousands of hours of chart study.

Marking NDOG and NWOG by hand means checking the 16:59 close and the 18:00 open every single day, then deciding by eye whether the gap between them is a daily or weekly one. This script does that check automatically, on precise 1-minute data, and keeps the last several gaps drawn on your chart as live reference levels.

Great platform with plenty of useful information. I'd love to see even more content added over time, but what's already available is definitely worth it.

I've gone through a lot of trading content over the years, but this is one of the few platforms that actually explains why the market moves instead of just showing entries. Everything is structured and easy to follow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the NDOG + NWOG script do?

It automatically detects the daily and weekly opening gaps using precise 1-minute data (the 16:59 close and 18:00 open in New York time), classifying any gap spanning more than 24 hours as a weekly NWOG and the rest as daily NDOGs, then draws high/low/midpoint lines for each.

How many gaps should I actually keep visible on the chart?

As a general rule of thumb, keep the last 5 NDOGs and the last 5 NWOGs visible, since the most recent one or two carry the most weight and anything older adds clutter without much decision-relevant information.

Why does this script need 1-minute chart data specifically?

Gap detection depends on the exact candle close at 16:59 and open at 18:00 New York time, so the underlying symbol needs 1-minute history available, or the script won't be able to detect gaps for that instrument.

NDOG vs NWOG in this script — how does it decide which is which?

If more than 24 hours separate the 16:59 close from the following 18:00 open, the gap is classified and drawn as a weekly NWOG (purple); otherwise it's drawn as a daily NDOG (yellow).
